Abstract

This article is dedicated to the legal regulation of the tourism sector’s environmental impact and the assessment of its primary and secondary environmental consequences. The relevance of the topic lies in the fact that with the rapid development of tourism, its impact on the environment is also increasing. This requires solutions for assessing the impact of tourism activities on the environment and the legal regulation of its environmental consequences. The study analyzes the impact of infrastructure, transport, and recreational pressure resulting from tourism activities on natural resources and protected natural areas based on the environmental legislation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the system of protected natural areas, and international standards. In studying the relationship between the environment and tourism, general scientific methods such as analysis and synthesis, logical, systemic, and historical approaches, as well as comparative-legal and formal-legal methods, were applied. The legal framework for the development of ecological tourism, the priorities of state policy in this area were studied, and systemic problems existing in current legislation were identified. Based on a comparative analysis of advanced foreign experience, practical proposals and recommendations have been developed to improve legal mechanisms that ensure the optimal balance between tourism development and the protection of natural resources.
