Abstract

This article examines the process of implementing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the measures aimed at this direction. Particular attention is paid to the developing legal and regulatory frameworks and applications in this field. The study analyzes Uzbekistan’s strategic focus on AI as a national development priority within the framework of the “Digital Uzbekistan – 2030” program and the artificial intelligence development strategy until 2030. It examines important legislative steps, such as presidential decrees and the adoption of a law regulating relations arising from the use of AI. These documents establish ethical principles, data protection requirements, and liability mechanisms for the use of AI technologies. The article also evaluates the practical application of AI in key sectors such as public administration, healthcare, finance, agriculture, transport, and public safety. At the same time, ongoing pilot projects and their preliminary results will be analyzed. In addition, institutional reforms, infrastructure development, and capacity-building measures aimed at strengthening Uzbekistan’s AI ecosystem will be considered. The conclusion drawn at the end of the article is that despite the existing challenges related to data integration, computing power, and human skills, Uzbekistan has great potential to become a regional leader in the field of AI-based digital transformation and intelligent management.
